Kelly & Chance | A Pink and Navy Destination Wedding at The Folmar in Tyler, TX

We were given an extra day this year, and Kelly and Chance knew exactly what to do with it! When Kelly asked me if I’d be willing to travel to a sweet little chapel on the outskirts of Tyler, Texas to photograph her and Chance’s leap-day wedding, my answer was a resounding YES! One look at this sweet little venue, and I knew it was going to be magical.

We woke up Saturday morning to a beautiful sunny-and-75 type of day, and it set the tone for a perfect wedding celebration. Kelly and her girls were so relaxed getting ready in the bridal suite on the grounds, while Chance and the groomsmen helped with last minute set-up tasks, then caught some ball games on TV in the “man cave” next door.

One of the reasons Kelly chose this venue was for beautiful pictures, and her and Chance had no problem exploring the grounds with me for portraits after they shared a first look. I was in photographer heaven, and we got such an amazing variety of images for them! Then it was time for the ceremony – y’all, there are no words for the sweet little chapel! The ceremony was given by Kelly and Chance’s good friend, and it was the best kind – sweetly sentimental with a little bit of humor. Kelly and Chance loved the giant blue doors at the back of the chapel so much, they decided to “flip” the pews so the doors became their backdrop for their vows. I loved all the little creative touches they thought of to make the day uniquely theirs!

Kelly even found a way to make the bouquet toss unique! Rather than throwing a usual bouquet, she surprised all the single ladies by tossing them a bunch of red roses – a la The Bachelor – that split and rained down on them, so everyone got one! The reactions were priceless!

Kelly and Chance, I hope you both are having the best time in St. Lucia!! Thank you so much for being the best and including me in this sweet time in your lives. It’s been such an honor and a joy!
