If there’s anything that I’ve learned from the internet, it’s that the world is way smaller than I ever thought it was. One day several months ago I was scrolling through a Facebook group, when a post caught my eye. It’s not everyday I see my home state mentioned in a nationwide group of tens of thousands of photographers and creatives. The poster was a photographer in El Paso looking for a second shooter in Baton Rouge, of all places. I had to know more, so I messaged her and we started chatting. Her name was Megan Vining, and she told me she was actually moving to South Louisiana soon, but not just anywhere in South Louisiana – right down the street from me in South Louisiana. What are the odds?

I was lucky to second shoot 3 weddings for Megan this past spring, from New Orleans all the way to Woodville, MS. The first was Katelyn and Gregg’s, at the Gatehouse in Baton Rouge. These two were the absolute sweetest. Katelyn is so joyful and full of life, and you can clearly see how much she adores Gregg by the way she looks at him. Her bridesmaids wore perfectly mismatched dresses, and her bouquet is one of my favorites to date. Below are a few of my favorite images from the night!
