I can’t even begin to explain how much I’ve missed weddings during this pandemic, and I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect couple to spend my “first” full wedding day with! The entire day felt intimate and sweet – not because of the Covid-reduced guest count – but because that is Sarah Catherine and Keenan together. When I first met Sarah Catherine (or SC to her friends and family), she didn’t know what a first look was but as soon as I told her, she was immediately on board. She knew that seeing Keenan would calm her nerves and I can attest, that was 100% true! You could tell just by talking to them, but I also overheard them say before leaving for the ceremony that they were SO glad they did the first look and felt so much better! The extra time they got to spend together was priceless, calming and just so SO sweet! As SC read a letter she wrote to Keenan, you can see how much he truly adores her. Their day was totally about them and I did my best to capture that!
Even though they got to experience their full wedding day on the original date, which is AMAZING, there were still compromises in now-typical pandemic fashion. A change in reception venue to the Country Club of Louisiana, who was so great about being flexible and letting them bring an outside caterer in, and then a bridesmaid dress dilemma that turned into the best story. A couple of months before the wedding, the girls found out that their bridesmaid dresses would not be arriving. Luckily, a fellow St. Joseph’s alum had used the same dresses for her wedding, and many of those bridesmaids were SJA graduates as well. All of these girls, many of whom live all over the country now, rallied together and selflessly SHIPPED THEIR DRESSES to Sarah Catherine and her bridesmaids! How incredible is that? Such a testament to the bond SJA girls share!
SC and Keenan, I hope I did your special day justice and that you can always remember truly how special and loving it was when you look back on these photos. I also want to give a huge shout out to Kate Cook with KBCook Weddings for working so hard behind the scenes, and rolling with the punches to pull off such a perfect day for this amazing couple!
