I’m Renee, a South Louisiana wedding photographer striving to create blissful experiences and timeless images. As a former CPA, I live for organization, but my secret power is handling chaos with grace on wedding days. From rounding up rowdy wedding parties to bustling dresses, I’ve got your back - without missing a shot.
When Laine contacted me a few days after I shot her cousin Kali’s wedding, I had to verify that she had the right date. Of course, Sunday weddings are not unheard of but also aren’t super common. She verified the date and said she just “had to have it!” So of course when we met up a few weeks later, I had to know why! Laine’s birthday is 8/28, and Troy’s birthday is 10/30, so getting married right in the middle on 9/29 was just too good for them to pass up! For those of you that don’t know, I was a CPA in my past life and numbers are life, so I just LOVE this probably as much as they do!! The symmetry of it just makes my heart sing haha!
Past and current RLP brides will know that I send a pretty extensive bridal guide with lots of tips and tricks for wedding planning, and Laine put hers to good use! She used my timeline template to create her own and guys…it was perfect! We had so. much. time. for pictures and it was just a super relaxed day! Laine and Troy also chose to do a first look which meant they got extra portraits! Yay!
This wedding was also what I’m calling “the wedding of surprises”! Y’all, these two are just so sweet. They both had unknowingly planned surprises for each other, and then together they had a special surprise for two of their guests. Laine ordered a special groom’s cake for Troy of his blue truck, which was a HUGE hit with him. He didn’t want to cut it he loved it so much! Then Troy surprise Laine by having their sweet pup Chance waiting for her as she walked down the aisle. He was was so darn adorable with his puppy cufflinks and bowtie!
Earlier this summer when I photographed Kali and Chris’ wedding, they were unable to have their first dance and really experience most of their reception when Chris came down with a nasty stomach bug. So Laine had the SWEETEST and most selfless idea ever to have the DJ play Kali and Chris’ first dance song right after Laine and Troy’s, so they could have their big moment too! Guys, I was tearing up with Kali as Chris sang to her while they danced. It was so special and I’m so glad I had the opportunity to capture both weddings for these sweet friends and cousins.
Laine and Troy, I was so honored to be a part of this incredible day! <3 Here’s a few of my favorites!
