When Kelly asked me if it was okay to include her horses and dogs in her engagement session and bridals, this country girl could not say no! I love that she and John incorporated their four-legged family members into their wedding day. It was hectic but FUN! For Kelly’s bridal session, she had an even more special request – to take some photos with her mom’s wedding present from her dad from 27 years ago. That wedding present just so happened to be “Blue” – the beautiful, 31 year old(!!) white horse you see below! Of course I jumped at the opportunity to capture such a sweet and special part of her family’s legacy. My favorite part of this job goes beyond just photographing a wedding, no matter how beautiful or expensive the details are. While Kelly was getting her wedding dress on, her mom pulled out an album and showed me her wedding photos with Blue. I can’t help but think about how one day Kelly can pull out those same pictures, along with these, to show her children and grandchildren. Preserving such special moments like this is what it’s all about.
