I’m Renee, a South Louisiana wedding photographer striving to create blissful experiences and timeless images. As a former CPA, I live for organization, but my secret power is handling chaos with grace on wedding days. From rounding up rowdy wedding parties to bustling dresses, I’ve got your back - without missing a shot.
As I pulled up to the house where Christie and her girls were getting ready, I knew it was going to be a special wedding day. Christie and Holden are both so sweetly intentional and thoughtful in their relationship, and this day was no different. Every detail had significance, from the cake knives that were Christie’s parents, to the lace around her bouquet, to the house next door where Holden proposed. It was like the entire day was a huge full-circle moment and it just felt so right! I got to know Christie during their engagement, and none of this was a surprise to me. The girl is a planner! What was a surprise however, was Holden’s involvement and planning for this day. Sometimes grooms have a tendency to just “show up”, and I love when they end up surprising their brides with a super thoughtful gift! Well, Holden’s gift was the epitome of thoughtful! There wasn’t a dry eye in the house as she read his note from a journal for them to write in on their anniversary every year.
The girls helped Christie into her fitted lace gown before taking a party bus over to The Cabin Restaurant, where the guys were already waiting. After Christie and Holden shared a first look, we spent some time taking portraits of the two of them and the wedding party, and then it was ceremony time. They said “I do,” then the ceremony chairs were cleared and everyone danced the night away under the stars! The weather was cool and as perfect as it gets in South Louisiana!
After the band played the final song of the night, Christie told Holden that she didn’t want the day to end. Even though it had to, I’m so happy I had the honor of capturing every thoughtful little detail so they can relive it all anytime!
