I’m Renee, a South Louisiana wedding photographer striving to create blissful experiences and timeless images. As a former CPA, I live for organization, but my secret power is handling chaos with grace on wedding days. From rounding up rowdy wedding parties to bustling dresses, I’ve got your back - without missing a shot.
I’m so excited to finally be sharing this wedding with you! Brooke and Tanner were so joyful on their big day! It rained on and off all day (which honestly, it has been every day lately) but the rain didn’t phase these two one bit. We were lucky enough to have the sun peek out here and there, and it almost perfectly coincided with our portrait times. The oak trees across the street from Boudreaux’s were the perfect setting for photos, and I was one happy photographer!
Brooke is originally from Michigan, and when we were discussing her timeline she told me how receptions are typically 6 hours there! Her and Tanner incorporated some traditions from her home state, including a cocktail hour, which was SO nice!!! Since Brooke and Tanner didn’t share a first look, the cocktail hour allowed us plenty of time to take portraits of them, their families, and the wedding party, AND for me to get detail shots of their reception space before all their guests sat down! It was so relaxed which is always a welcome feeling on a wedding day.
One of my favorite parts of the day was the ceremony itself. Brooke and Tanner had a close friend marry them, and he delivered a funny yet touching ceremony that included the story of how these two teachers met and started dating. It was so personal to them which always make for the BEST ceremonies. One thing that stood out to me during the reception, was when Brooke asked for a group photo with her high school friends. It was such a large group – so many friends and family traveled from far away to see Brooke and Tanner tie the knot. Clearly these two are so very loved!!
Brooke and Tanner, thank you so much for the honor of capturing your beautiful day! I’ve enjoyed getting to know you both so much and I wish you many happy years of marriage!
