Lauren & Kyle | Classic Navy Blue Wedding in New Roads, LA

The forecast all last week leading up to Lauren & Kyle’s big day was not ideal. Like, 100%-chance-of-rain-and-flash-flooding not ideal. I was so bummed for them! We were only going to have a small window of time for outdoor portraits after the ceremony (which is a bonus of getting married in the summer, when the sun sets so late – especially if you don’t want to do a first look!) and I just KNEW it was going to be pouring during that time. Luckily, the weather men were off on their timing and all the really bad stuff came through the morning before!! Lauren’s mom also stocked up on clear umbrellas and I’m convinced that helped ward off the rain too! It only showered a little during the ceremony for good luck, and the rest of the day was beautiful blue skies!

The atmosphere at Lauren’s family home while the girls got dressed was so relaxed and laid back which definitely set the tone for the rest of the day! Kyle had flowers and a sweet note delivered to his future bride, while he and the groomsmen played pool and got ready just down the street!

After mass, I snuck outside with the brand new bride and groom for a few portraits, then they joined their guests at their reception at the Civic Center. And what a party! There was 600 people in attendance at this wedding and I think every one of them made it on the dance floor at some point! It was such a blast!

Lauren and Kyle, thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of this journey with you! It feels like just yesterday we were taking your engagement photos even though that was a whole year ago! I hope you have an amazing honeymoon in Barbados!
