I’m so excited to share this wedding! Elise and Derek tied the knot at Ashley Manor two weeks ago, on a rainy summer afternoon. The ceremony had to be moved inside because of the weather, and I know firsthand how devastating that can be to a bride who’s planned a gorgeous outside wedding for months and months. But Elise took it all in stride and was so calm, you wouldn’t have had any idea we had to go to Plan B for the ceremony! She was just ready to marry the love of her life and that was all that mattered!!

I get to listen to a lot of ceremonies, and the best ones are the ones that include personal stories of the bride and groom with a little humor thrown in. Elise & Derek’s was so so good! We got to hear about how they met, and how Elise turned Derek down the first time he asked her out!! Good thing he was persistent 🙂

Every wedding photographer loves photographing beautiful details, but my favorite ones by far are cherished family heirlooms. Derek’s ring belonged to his grandfather, and it meant so much to his mom to pass it down.
And then the rain started! Thankfully Ashley Manor has a nice big covered porch that’s been my go-to for portraits! I love the draping greenery in Elise’s bouquet!
